Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez (/gri̽/ /gre̜/ [foreign] [necklace]) is a subtropical Town located in the Qěvrìlæh District of the Federation of Alveria.

The name Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez was founded by Mp̪f̄shīb Mboīkī 'Baby Quinn' Mbó̄ Ma̋nḱ Vúńoī Phrigeegraet, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Overview

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez was founded durring the late 18th century in early spring of the year 1753, by Mp̪f̄shīb Mboīkī 'Baby Quinn' Mbó̄ Ma̋nḱ Vúńoī Phrigeegraet. The establishment of Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez suffered from several major issues, resulting in the need to develop many solutions to basic problems. Problems such as a lack of fresh water, logistical support, poor quality tools, and the odd monster or two. Howeaver, these were overcome in time.

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 18th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez is is constructed arround a series of spacious paverstone mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town posesses a fortified albit thin wall of querried stone. This wall posesses most of the features of a castle wall, though it is constructed from cheeper inferior stone. It would pose a minor chalange for an attacking army, though it's clear the wall's true purpose is to crush the hopes of bandits and marauders. The failry decent fortifications have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

The first thing you notice about Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez is the large sign at the entrance welcoming you to their humble town. Children come up to you and say hi, some asking if you’ve fought any big monsters, and others just zipping away after their hello. The adults are much the same. By the time you’ve made it a significant way into the town you’ve been invited to a tavern for a pint to drink in exchange for news of the world. You’ve also had no less than three older women give you a sweetroll and direct your attention to their still unmarried children. It would be creepy if it wasn't so sincere.

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez. Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Town. Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez's grid is powered by an arcane means.

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez's natural decorations nor waterways.

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

Cultural Notes

Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its fluid and florid elaborate style, comprising ornate, asymmetric designs and pastel shades. It is often considered to be a playful, light style, which made exuberant use of curves and emphasized subtle asymmetry in the general shape of its structures. Walls, ceilings and moldings are decorated with numerous interlacing of curves and counter-curves based on the shapes of ‘C’ and ‘S’, along with shell forms and other naturalistic shapes.

In Gri̽ Gre̜ Kez the utterance of expletives is impossible within city limits. This has changed as the limits have changed, but has not kept up with slang, or swearing in foreign languages.
